Digital cameras for smuggling at Airport seized
Mumbai, Jan 10 (UNI) A person was arrested today for allegedly smuggling digital cameras worth Rs 7.55 lakh, at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International (CSI) Airport here.
Joint Commissioner of Customs Satish Kumar said here that Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) intercepted the Indian National, who had arrived from Hongkong via Delhi, by Air-India flight-311 and opted for green channel, declaring old and used clothes.
When his baggage was screened at the x-ray machine, dutiable goods were found from his possession including digital cameras alongwith accessories valued about Indian Rs 7.55 lakh.
He has been arrested under the provision of the customs Act 1962 for smuggling the goods.
