CPM Pasla demands probe into Congress, SAD publicity expenses

Jalandhar, Jan 10 (UNI) The Communist Party Marxist, Punjab(Pasla) has urged the Election Commission (EC) to order a probe into the huge expenditure being incurred by ruling Congress and opposition Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) on their publicity campaigns for the February 13 assembly elections.

Talking to reporters here today, party state secretary Mangat Ram Pasla said crores of rupees were being spent by both the parties on their publicity campaigns daily and EC should look into the matter.

Mr Pasla said the people had every right to know about the source of funds for such mega publicity campaigns.

He added that the party would submit formal representation to the Commission in this connection.
