Couple killed in wall collapse

Kancheepuram, Jan 10 (UNI) A couple was killed and two others injured when the protective wall of a water canal collapsed.

Police said Bhoopal alias Rajendran (40) and his wife Usha (35) were engaged in desilting work in the canal when the wall collapsed killing them on the spot.

Fire and Rescue Services personnel cleared the debris by using a crane. The bodies were later shifted to the government hospital.

Kannan (70) and Sakthivel (35) who sustained injuries were rushed to the same hospital for treatment.
