Coldwave conditions revive in HP
Shimla, Jan 10 (UNI) The coldwave conditions revived in Himachal Pradesh today with Shimla town recording a night temperature of 1.3 degree Celsius, the met office today said.
The minimum temperatures at Kalpa in Kinnuar district and Sundernagar in Mandi district dipped to minus 5.4 and minus point three degrees Celsius as against minus three and 0.7 degrees recorded yesterday.
The met office said the night temperature at Shimla plummeted to 1.3 degrees last night after recording a minimum temperature of 4.1 degree Celsius.
Bhuntar in Kullu district of the state recorded a night temperature of zero degree after recording a minimum of minus 1.5 degree Celsius, it said.
The met office said the state capital also recorded a drop in the day temperature, which stood at 12.1 degrees as against 15.4 degrees recorded yesterday, while the maximum temperature at Sundernagar and Bhuntar stood at 19.3 and 18.4 degree Celsius respectively.
Dharamshala town in Kangra district recorded a night temperature of 3.7 degree Celsius, it said, adding that night temperatures in mid and lower hills of the state had fallen during the last 24 hrs.
The met office said the minimum temperatures in all the higher altitude areas of the state had also plummeted during the last 24 hrs, reviving coldwave conditions.
The met office has predicted mainly clear sky in the state during the next 24 hrs.
