Block education officer arrested for accepting bribe

Patna, Jan 10 (UNI) The State Vigilance Bureau has arrested an education officer for accepting bribe from a school teacher in Sitmarhi district here today.

Additional Director General(ADG) of Vigilance bureau Neelmani said that a trap was laid following a tip-off from Sunil Kumar Chaudhary about the demand of cash by the education officer of Bathnaha block Ramadhar Yadav to extend favour in connection with salary payments.

''Mr Yadav was caught red handed with Rs 2000 he had received from Mr Chaudhary as bribe,'' he added.

A case had been registered against the officer.Police is carrying out further investigation.
