Blast in southern Philippines kills 2 -police

MANILA, Jan 10 (Reuters) An explosion outside a market in the southern Philippine city of General Santos killed two people today, police said.

The blast, at 1530 IST, came as the country is on high alert ahead of a summit of 16 Asian leaders in the central island of Cebu on January 13-15.
