Bengal's special handloom expo in Pearl City
Hyderabad, January 10 (UNI), West Bengal Cottege and Small Scale Industries Department Principal Secretary G D Gautama today inaugurated 'Special Handloom EXPO 2007' in the city.
Speaking to newsmen here, Mr Gautama said 43 weavers' societies have set up 45 stalls at the exposition being organised from today to January 24.
This is the first time an exclusive Bengal handloom exposition was organised in the Pearl City.
Stating the weavers societies representing 17 districts were participating in the exposition, the oficial said the West Bengal Government was encouraging them to promote thier products in the expositions being organised in every state.
Traditional Bengal sarees and cotton clothes were the centre of attraction at the exposition, he added.
