Bajaj launches "Kristal" scooter
Chennai, Jan 10 (UNI) Making its re-entry into the scooter segment after a gap of eight years, Bajaj Auto, India's leading two-wheeler manufacturer, today announced the launch of "Kristal," the much awaited ungeared scooter.
Addressing a press conference here, Marketing and Sales Vice-President S Sridhar said "Kristal" has been developed considering the psyche and needs of "GenNext customers", especially girls.
"The all new 4-stroke 95 CC vehicle comes with patented DTSi technology along with exhaust TEC for a superior pick up and mileage.
Kristal ideally meets the requirements of today's modern young consumer in terms of convenience, safety and style," he said.
He said the vehicle was launched here for the first time and the company was planning to target Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra before entering three more states.
Mr Sridhar said nearly 25,000 scooters were sold in the country in a month and Bajaj expected to sell 10,000 units.
"We targeting to sell 10,000 scooters and looking for 30 to 40 per cent growth in six months," he added.
