Azad Sandesh Yatra arrives inBhopal
Bhopal, Jan 10 (UNI) The 10-day Azad Sandesh Yatra, which started from Allahabad on January three to spread the message of freedom fighter Chandrashekhar Azad on the occasion of his birth centenary, reached the state capital today.
''A good response was received for the yatra and nearly 17,000 people turned up during a meeting in Chhatarpur. Several thousand people came to learn about the life and personality of Azad,'' Yatra convenor and Madhya Pradesh BJP General Secretary Anil Madhav Dave said.
Pointing out that several people in Madhya Pradesh were not aware that Azad was born in Bhabhra village of Jhabua district, he said people were made aware of Azad and his friends' vision for India for which they took up the armed struggle with a aim, through the yatra.
The 3,000-km yatra will pass through more than 20 districts and 60 towns and cities in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh before culminating at Azad's native Bhabhra village in Jhabua district.
The Azad Sandesh Yatra left for Indore at 1000 hrs this morning.
