UPA-government promoting only Chinese goods: Joshi
Ludhiana, Jan 9 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Murli Manohar Joshi today warned that if the UPA-government under Prime Minister Manmohan Singh continued with its economic policies of ''favouring a few nations'', then in the coming few years a number of domestic industries would shut down.
''In the coming six years, the owners of a number of small and medium industries will be looking for jobs in multi-national concerns,'' he said while addressing a joint rally of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)-BJP organised by the local industrial and trade forum here.
Charging the UPA-government with promoting trade of Chinese goods and products, he claimed that this policy had hit the Indian manufacturers hard.'' The hand (party symbol) of the Congress is not for the common man, but it is the hand that promotes Chinese trade,'' he said.
Continued promotion of trade with China, that is allowing free flow of Chinese goods, would sound a death knell for the domestic industry and trade, he warned.
Turning to Punjab, Dr Joshi called upon the industrialists and traders to vote the SAD-BJP alliance to power. The staggering Punjab economy could only be revived if the SAD-BJP under Prakash Singh Badal, he said while pointing to the SAD chief, Parkash Singh Badal who was also present at the rally.
