TRS accepts minister's challenge

Karimnagar, Andhra Pradesh, Jan 9 (UNI) The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhara Rao today accepted Irrigation Minister P Lakshmaiah's challenge to the Opposition for an open debate on Potireddypadu issue.

Speaking to newspersons here, Mr Rao said the TRS welcomed the minister's challenge and was ready to participate in the debate on the issue.

Alleging that the minister, who belonged to the backward Telangana region, had forgotten the plight of the farmers and conspired to supply Krishna water to Rayalaseema by reducing the Telangana water share, he said the party would file a petition in the Supreme Court to stay the construction of Potireddypadu project.
