Three-member Hurriyat delegation to leave for Pak on Jan 18

Srinagar, Jan 9 (UNI) A three-member delegation of the Hurriyat Conference, led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, will leave for Pakistan on January 18.

Hurriyat spokesman Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam told UNI that the visit has been postponed by a day as it was earlier scheduled for January 17.

He said the Hurriyat Executive Committee, in a crucial meeting at its Raj Bagh headquarters here yesterday, had decided that three senior members -- chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Prof Abdul Ghani Bhat and Bilal Ghani Lone -- will leave for Islamabad on January 17.

Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam said all the modalities regarding the visit have been completed.

He said the Hurriyat delegation would now leave for Lahore from New Delhi via the Wagah border on january 18.

During the Pakistan visit, the Hurriyat leaders would hold talks with President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri and other senior leaders of the ruling and opposition parties.
