Ten-year-old girl killed by leopard in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 9 (UNI) A 10-year-old girl was killed by a leopard in north Kashmir this morning, a police spokesman said.

He said Shabina Akhter, Daughter of Rafiq Ahmed Khan was attacked and injured by a leopard at Beighpora in the north Kashmir district of Baramulla.

She was immediately shifted to the Sub-District hospital at Achabal where she succumbed to her injuries.

About a dozen people have been killed by wild animals in the Kashmir valley since November last year.

Officials said that there were 60 to 70 incidents of man-animal conflicts in 2006.
