Superhouse earmarks Rs 45 crores for expansion

Lucknow, Jan 9 (UNI) Superhouse Ltd, with the brand name of Allen Cooper in leather industry, has earmarked Rs 45 crore to expand its capacity of tanneries and footwear division to cater to the growing demand due to anti-dumping duty imposed on China by European countries.

The Kanpur/Unnao-based leather unit, with a turnover of Rs 300 crore, has also chalked out an expansion plan to be completed by 2008.

Of the total expansion plan, Rs 25 crore would be invested in the footwear section and rest on leather production.

Addressing a news conference here, company's Chairman and Managing Director Mukhtarul Amin said Superhouse Ltd exports 90 per cent of its production to more than 30 countries around the world, besides having offices at Dubai, the UK and the US.

''We are averaging a growth of 25-30 per cent monthly and have a target to cross a turnover of Rs 1,100 crore in 2012-13.'' Talkling about the pollution of river Ganga by the tanneries in Kanpur and Unnao, he said the company has three tanneries in Unnao and all of them are supported by big treatment plants.

''We take care of the quality of the disposable water in the river and have direct interaction with the state government officials regularly,'' he informed.
