Select metals decline on thin buying support

Mumbai, Jan 9 (UNI) Select metals declined on thin buying suport in line with London Metal, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.

In the ferrous category, copper heavy rose by Rs 300 per quintal on higher advice while Brass utensils slashd by Rs 200 per quintal on sluggish demand.

In the non-ferrous segment, copper wire bars went up by Rs 500 per quintal on lesser stock supply while Zinc slab eased by Rs 500 per quintal and Lead Ingots and Aluminium ingots eased by Rs 100 each per quintal on improved offers by stockists.

Nickel cathode slid by Rs 10 per kg on poor demand.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 29,800, copper utensils - Rs 28,000, brass utensils - Rs 22,000, brass cuttings - Rs 24,500 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,100.

Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 33,000, aluminium ingots - Rs 14,200, zinc slab - Rs 21,500, lead ingots - Rs 7,200, tin slab - Rs 600 (per kg) and nickel cathode - Rs 1,690 (per kg).
