'Peoples' Front' to organise protest against Saddam's hanging

Bangalore, Jan 9 (UNI) A massive public meeting will be held here on January 19 under the banner of ''Peoples Front'' to condemn the execution of deposed Iraqi President Saddam Hussain, former Union Minister and Senior Congress leader C K Jaffer Sharief said.

Talking to newsmen here yesterday, he said Saddam's hanging was nothing but a ''brutal act committed by United States and its ally Britain''.

He said the public meeting would be addressed by like minded parties, including the Left, which had already opposed and demonstrated against the killing. Leaders like Moulana Afzal, Journalist and Asian Age Editor A J Akbar, Left party leaders including Prakash Karat and Sitaram Yechuri would address the meeting. Samajawadi Party leaders would also attend, he announced.
