Paes-Damm win opening round match in Sydney event

Sydney, Jan 9 (UNI) Leander Paes and his Czech partner Martin Damm beat Lukas Dlouhy and Paul Vizner of Czech Republic 7-6 (2), 6-2 in the doubles first round of the Medibank International tennis tournament here today.

The fourth seeded Indo-Czceh pair will meet the winner of the match between Alun Jones/Robert Smeets of Australia and American -Australian duo of Tripp Phillipps and Ashley Fisher.

Meanwhile, Mahesh Bhupathi and Fabrice Santoro of France will take on Isreali pair of Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram in the first round.
