NHPC to execute Kirthai project: Govt
Jammu, Jan 9 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government today informed the state Legislative Assembly that the second phase of Kirthai Hydel Electric Project (KHEP) has been assigned to National Hydraulic Power Corporation (NHPC) for execution Power Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora, during question hour, told the lower house that a detailed project report for Kirthai has already been formulated by the Power Development Corporation, while Pakal Dul and Barsur Projects stand assigned to NHPC.
He said Pakal Dul's project report has been prepared by NHPC and submitted to Central Electricity Authority (CEA) for TEC, whereas the DPR preparation for Bursar HEP is under progress with NHPC.
Replying to a question, the minister said the assignment for formulating DPR for Rettle and Kiru Projects has been entrusted to NHPC and added that the survey and the investigation have already been taken up by NHPC.
In reply to another question, he said the mini Hydel Project at Brenwar in tehsil Chadoora stands allotted on April 28 in 2005 to a private firm. The five MW project is estimated to cost Rs 32.50 crore, he added.
