Militants threaten to disrupt poll activities
Imphal, Jan 9 (UNI) The Kuki Liberation Army(KLA) has announced that it will impose a ban on the activities of the Secular Progressive front (SPF) government during the coming ninth Manipur Assembly Elections in February for its alleged failure to take up issues related to Kuki tribes.
The Kuki Revolutionary organisations, operating in the state, had entered into a truce with the KLA in August 2005 but the present government did not show interest in the matter, KLA sources said.
It said, ''In spite of our prayers, the SPF-led Manipur government did not pay heed to the peace initiative taken up by the various Kuki revolutionary groups and the army.'' UNI
