Microsoft signs MoU with IEG

Hyderabad, Jan 9 (UNI) Microsoft Corporation India Private Ltd and the Institute of Electronic Governance (IEG) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

According to a release here the MoU was geared to deliver on Microsoft's overall objective of strengthening the IT competency amongst the local communities and enabling them to realise their full potential with IT.

Under this agreement, students in Andhra Pradesh would be provided opportunities to develop skills on next-generation Microsoft tools and technologies, including NET, which would enhance their technology skills and employability in the IT domain and improve their career options immensely.

Additionally, Microsoft and IEG would work together on five e-governance projects, aimed at developing technology that would make a tangible impact on the lives of the common man.

Under this multifaceted partnership, Microsoft would impart training to students doing final year and pre-final year of Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Bachelor of Technology (B Tech) and Master of Computer Application (MCA) courses in Andhra Pradesh.

Approximately, 1,500 students were expected to be trained through the course of one month duration and would focus on cutting edge Microsoft technologies.

Further, the faculty in the selected institutions would also get an opportunity to collaborate with experts from across the world and would gain access to Microsoft's premium technology events.
