MCD seals 138 units

New Delhi, Jan 9 (UNI) The Municipal Corporation of Delhi today sealed 138 units in Sadar Paharganj, Shahdara (South), West, Central, Karol Bagh and Civil lines zones.

Further the MCD today initiated major demolition action against ongoing unauthorized construction at Lado Sarai in South Zone. The demolition was carried out after the Monitoring Committee constituted by the Delhi High Court pointed out unauthorized construction in this zone.

Of the 138 units sealed by the MCD today, 42 units were at Vikas Puri and Ashok Nagar in West Zone. In Central Zone, 30 units were sealed at Swami Permanand Marg while in Karol Bagh Zone, 25 units were sealed at K.S. Krishnan Marg and 19 units were sealed in Civil Lines Zone, an MCD spokesperson said.

In Shahdara (South), 12 Units were sealed at Mayur Vihar Phase-1 Road, from Samachar Apartment to Kotla Village and Road along Shashi Garden Jhuggi Pkt. 5 Mayur Vihar Ph.-1. The remaining 10 units were sealed at Gulabi Bagh in Civil Lines Zone. Yesterday the MCD sealed 213 commercial units.

With today's sealing, the number of units since the resumption of the sealing drive on November eight on Supreme Court orders stands at 4730.
