LA Sovereign to launch e-bikes

Kochi, Jan 9 (UNI) LA Sovereign Bicycles Private Limited, a joint venture between Ludhiana-based Sovereign and Thailand-based LA, is planning to launch e-bikes in the near future.

Speaking to mediapersons after the launch of the company's products in the Kerala market here today, LA Sovereign Managing Director Rohit Kalra said the battery driven e-bikes, which were environment friendly, would be launched in two months time in the country.

He said the bike could carry a weight of 80 kg and touch a speed of 30 to 35 km/hour.

The battery could be charged easily and with a four-hour charging the bike can travel upto 50 kms, he added.

The e-bikes would be priced between Rs 9,000 to Rs 20,000, he said.

The innovative designer cycles launched in the local market were made of high-quality Taiwanese components using very light weight and strong raw materials making the bikes easy to handle, Mr Kalra said.

He said the cycle range covers the age group between two and 60 and has children bicylces, BMX, city trekking, cross bikes, folding bikes, mountain bikes and road bikes.

The cycles were priced between Rs 2,000 to 10,000, he noted.
