Mysore, Jan 9 (UNI) Karnataka Governor T N Chaturvedi today urged the Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) authorities not to shy away from the various problems being faced by them at present.
Inaugurating a new library building in the KSOU campus here, he said he was aware of the problems and it was natural with growing universities. ''We should not shy away from finding solutions to the problems and one cannot solve problems sitting outside the set up,'' he added.

It is not true, open universities are reaching people who were unreachable so far. In the years to come, the open university would earn good reputation,'' he hoped, urging the staff and the management to cooperate with the Vice-Chancellor, who inturn should cooperate with the Government to run the varsity effectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Karnataka Higher Education Minister D H Shankaramurthy disclosed that the Government would open 70 more degree colleges in the next academic year. The Government had sanctioned Rs 50 crore to take up repair works in various college buildings in the State this year.
