Jaish militant, soldier killed, two hideouts busted
Srinagar, Jan 6 (UNI) Security forces gunned down a militant of Pakistan based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and busted two hideouts while one soldier injured in a recent grenade blast died in Jammu and Kashmir.
An official spokesman said security forces conducted a search operation at village Kothar Bandipora in north Kashmir district of Baramulla last night. However, during the search operation an encounter took place in which a JeM militant was killed. One AK rifle, one magazine and eleven rounds of ammunition were recovered from the slain militant.
He said a soldier, who was injured in a grenade blast at Gool Chakri in Pulwama district on Saturday died in the hospital today.
With this the toll in the blast has risen to four.
Security forces busted a hideout at Mazmoon top in Karnah sector last night and recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition including one snipper rifle, three magazine, 119 rounds of ammunition, one pistol, 16 UBGL grenades, nine hand grenades and one binocular. However, no one was arrested.
Two UBGL grenades and one hand grenade were recovered from a hideout at Kulgam in south Kashmir.
