Chandigarh, Jan 9 (UNI) The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) today launched a statewide agitation against the Hooda government for the alleged rampant corruption, deteriorating law and order and scarcity of water and electricity in the state.

During the demonstrations, that will continue till January 17, the INLD leaders also raised the issues of rising prices of essential commodities and the sealing drive by the Hooda Government.

Hundreds of INLD activists participated in the demonstrations at Sirsa, Faridabad and Jind.

They submitted memorandums to the Governor through respective District Comissioners and protested against the alleged failure of the Government on all fronts. They also asked for halting the ''demolition drive in the guise of sealing.'' ''The Hooda Government and its policies are responsible for the mismanagement and lack of water and electricity'', the memorandum said.

INLD also opposed the renaming of the institutions and schemes named after former Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal.

The memorandum alleged that Hooda government was removing the foundation stones laid by the previous Chautala government and installing foundation stones of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in their place.

Rajya Sabha MP Mr Ajay Singh Chautala and former state INLD president Sher Singh Badshami led the protest march at Faridabad.

Haryana Olympic Association President Abhay Singh Chautala and former Chief Parliamentary Secretary Rampal Majra led the demonstrations at Sirsa and state INLD President Ashok Arora and former Finance Minister Sampat Singh led the protest marches at Jind.
