Father's alcoholism prompts son to kill him, police

Surat, Jan 9 (UNI) Shriram Patil, a retired constable, who was found murdered in the city on December 31, was killed by his own son as he was tired of his father's drinking habit, Detection of Crime Branch sources informed here.

Shailesh, the younger son of Patil, had confessed to DCB yesterday that he had killed his father as he created problems in the house everyday after drinking, DCB sources said.

On December 31, Shailesh had a heated argument with Patil and the son hit him hard, police said.

Patil died after receiving the blow and a scared Shailesh removed his body from the house and dumped it at a deserted place.

Then he thrashed the face of the body with a stone to create an impression that he had been killed by someone else, police added.
