Fake notes detected in PNB branches

Jodhpur, Jan 9: Counterfeit notes worth Rs 12,400 were detected in several branches of Punjab National Bank in Jodhpur division.

According to police, PNB has lodged a complaint in this regard in Pratapnagar police station, stating that unidentified people have deposited these fake notes in bank branches over the last three months.

According to sources, 11 fake notes of Rs 1,000, two notes of Rs 500 and four notes of Rs 100 have been deposited in Pali, Abu Road, Barmer, Sirohi and Jodhpur branches of PNB.

Sources said these notes were detected during the bank's internal audit. The fake notes have been seized and would be sent to press of Reserve Bank of India in Nasik.
