Ex-DGP Malik challenges parallel inquiry against him
Chandigarh, Jan 9 (UNI) The former Haryana police chief Mohinder Singh Malik today moved an application before the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) challenging the appointment of Promilla Issar as the inquiry officer in the case pertaining to now defunct Haryana State Industrial Security Force (HSISF).
Mr Malik has maintained that since the entire issue of HSISF was being probed by the Commission of Inquiry headed by Justice K S Bhalla, a retired judge of the high court, there was no justification in holding a parallel inquiry against him.
He had been placed under suspension by the state government in the context of setting up of and recruitment in the HSISF and had retired during the suspension itself.
The matter would now come up for further consideration on January 19.
