DMRC employees dies, three injured in accident

New Delhi, Jan 9 (UNI) A DMRC employee was killed and three others were injured early today when the vehicle in which they were traveling was hit by another near Kashmere Gate.

A K Sahu (24), along with other Metromen, was returning in a mini-truck from work at Vishwa Vidyalaya station when the vehicle was hit by another mini-truck at 0342 hrs, when it was turning onto the Ring Road near Kashmere Gate, a DMRC spokesperson said.

Sahu, a track maintainer hailing from Orissa, died on the spot.

Three other DMRC employees were injured in the accident.

While one of the injured employees was hospitalised, two others were discharged after first aid.

DMRC MD Dr E Sreedharan visited the injured Metroman in hospital and also met the family of the deceased, the spokesperson said.
