CPI(M) to agitate tomorrow protesting killing of cadres in WB
Chennai, Jan 9 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Tamil Nadu has announced a statewide demonstration tomorrow to condemn the killing of party cadres at Nandigram in West Bengal last Saturday.
In a statement here today, CPI(M) state Secretary N Varadarajan alleged that Trinamool Congress activists and naxalites were attempting to derail the Left Front Government's efforts to industrialise West Bengal.
Having failed to win people's support on the Singur issue, these destructive forces had taken to violence in Nandigram and had massacred nine CPI(M) cadres, he alleged.
Mr Varadarajan said the 24-hour 'Bangla Bandh,' called by the Trinamool Congress to cover up its violent activities, has also failed to get people's support.
Stating that the party would stage statewide demonstrations against the Trinamool Congress and the destructive forces, Mr Varadarajan appealed to all democratic forces to condemn the violence at Nandigram.
