Clash between students' unions at Ranaghat college

Krishnagar, Jan 9 (UNI) A scuffle took place today between members of of Ganatantric Chatra Sangram Morcha Committee (GCSMC) and SFI over filing of nomination papers for forthcoming elections in Ranaghat college here.

The GCSMC, a students forum backed by the Trinamool Congress and BJP, alleged the Students Federation of India members had snatched their bill books and tore their nomination forms, which the SFI denied.

Later the GCSMC members blocked the National Highway (NH) 34 to protest the incident.

Police had rushed to the spot to take tense situation under cotnrol.
