Child's leg bone found in Nithari; LIU Inspector suspended

Noida, Uttar Pradesh, Jan 9 (UNI) After a lull of more than a week, skeletal remains of Nithari serial killing victims continue to tumble out with another bone of a child found in the 'main nullah', close to the Sector 31 D-5 'killer house' today.

The leg bone of a child was found floating in the 'main nullah' -- where the drain passing from the 'D-5' house of the accused emptied itself, at about 1100 hrs.

The police later took the bone into its possession.

Following the 'discovery', villagers gathered in large numbers at the 'site' and rekindling emotive passions expressed regret at the 'half-hearted approach' of the investigations.

However, no move was afoot by the police to 'comb' or search the 'main nullah' which was hardly 40 m from the killer house, despite today's 'finding.' Villagers in Nithari still suspect that skeletal remains were there in the 'main nullah', and could still be found, as it was where the drain, where bones of several victims were found in the aftermath of the sensational killings coming to light, ended carrying the 'dumpings' made over the two-year period when the children were killed by the accused and later dumped.

Meanwhile, the district administration today suspended an Inspector of the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) Shivraj Singh Yadav for his failure to 'detect' and report the matter.

In another development, the Noida Authority today decided to give a 26.26 metre plot in Sector 122 to the families of the victims, on a 11-year lease at Re one per year lease rate.

The 'Global Peace Initiative' also conducted 'prayer meetings' at Nithari village for the peace of the departed souls this afternoon.

On December 29, the police had recovered skulls and skeletal remains of 17 victims from the backyard and the drain flowing in front of the 'killer house' at Sector 31 Nithari village here.
