Mumbai, Jan 09: Unity Infraprojects in a joint venture with BSEL Infrastructure Realty has bagged a contract worth Rs 250 crore for construction of IT Parks in Goa.
The land space allotted at Rajiv Gandhi IT Habitat, Dona Paula, Goa is 40,000 square meters with 1.5 FSI and will be utilized in construction of Private IT Parks, said a BSEL press release.
This is the 8th project bagged by the joint venture, thus driving up the total developable area bagged by the joint venture to more than 4 million square feet, the release added.
IT has emerged as a key driver for commercial real estate in India's metropolis. With IT-ITES industry clustering the metros, companies are now turning to more economical locations.
''With Unity's expertise in Construction and BSEL's experience in Marketing with excellent investors in line for our landmark projects, the joint venture enables us to make comprehensive bids for projects across sectors whether IT or commercial space or residential complexes'' said BSEL Infrastructure Realty MD Dharmendra Raichura.
''With lower property rates, Goa is emerging as a new hotspot on Indian Property market. With higher employment rates and attractive pay packages IT/ITES sector also spawns a thriving residential market in Goa'', said Mr Avarsekar of Unity Infraprojects.
Other projects bagged by the joint venture include contract worth Rs 546 crores for developing six shopping malls in Nagpur, and Rs 156 crore contracts for developing hotel and commercial space at the Shivchhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune.
