Bhandarkar plans making a Marathi movie

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Jan 9 (UNI) Noted Bollywood director Madhur Bhandarkar, who has been known for his realistic Hindi films like Chandni Bar, Page 3 and Corporate, today said he was in search of a good story for a Marathi film.

Mr Bhandarkar told mediapersons that he had two to three themes in his mind for making a Marathi film and was in search of a good story.

It would be his bilangual project and the film will also be made in Hindi,he added.

The famous Hindi cine director, here in connection with an ongoing silver jubilee celebrations of leading Marathi daily, Dainik Lokmat, said that the trend of his movies he had started from Chandani Bar would continue in future.

''My movies would continue to be on realistic genre because that suits my sensibility and even the audience likes it,'' Mr Bhandarkar replied to a question, whether his forthcoming release 'Traffic Signal', is different than his earlier films.

He said that audio cassettee of the songs in his 'Traffic Signal,' will be released in Mumbai on January 10 by bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit. The film was scheduled to be released world over on February 2.

According to him, his films are low budget, costing Rs four to five crore, can be compared with the costume budgets of the 'big budget movies.' A former assistant director to Ram Gopal Verma, Mr Bhandarkar, who debuted as a director in 1999 with his flop Trishakti - whixh had not done well said that he finds it difficult to stick up to the realistic trend, but he insisted that he could do better.

Script Writer of Bhandarkar's Corporate Ajya Monga who was present at the news conference, said that it was merely a coincidence that the fiction highlighted in the films turned out facts in some extent, and can not be fully linked with the script writing.

Dainik Lokmat's Mumbai Bureau Chief Atul Kulkarni was also present at the news conference on behalf of the Lokmat Group.
