APSRTC closes down depot
Tirupati, Jan 9 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) management closed down a bus depot at Kothakotta in Chittoor district on January 2, as it incurred a loss of Rs 7.3 crore in the last ten years, Corporation Regional Manager S Dharma Reddy said.
According to a release here today Mr Reddy said it would not affect the commuters and the employees. The transfer of 40 schedules plying from B Kothakotta depot to various places would not affect the passengers, he added.
He said the schedules have been transferred to Madanapalli-1 (26 schedules), Madanapalli-2 (13 schedules) and Chittoor depot (1 schedule).
There would not be any change in the number of services operated to 47 villages in Pedda Tippa Samudram mandal and Bangalore and Ananathapur, the release added.
