Hubli, Jan 9 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Karnataka unit President D V Sadananda Gowda today said action would be initiated, if necessary, against the party Legislators attending the Janata Dal (Secular)'s Pune meeting.

Talking to mediapersons here, he said it would not be a problem if they had gone to meet the Chief Minister as people's representatives. ''I shall be meeting them on January 11 and seeking an explanation. Only after hearing them, a decision will be taken on the action to be initiated,'' he added.

To a question, Mr Gowda said the party had not neglected Mr Dhananjaykumar and he would continue to remain in the party. There was no dissidence in the party. Party General Secretary H N Anantkumar did not attend today's programme here as he had to attend the parliamentary board meeting.

To another question, he said his party was not concerned in any way with former Prime Minister and JD(S) President H D Deve Gowda and he would not comment on any of the latter's statements. ''My party will deal only with (Chief Minister H D) Kumaraswamy and (Home Minister) M P Prakash as far as the coalition Government is concerned. I do not think the Government decisions are made at Mr Deve Gowda's residence, it's at the coordination committee.'' Mr Gowda said the BJP was of the view that elections to local bodies should be held on time and would urge for the same in the coordination committee of the coalition Government.

On his party allying with other parties in civic polls, he said it would be left to the local district units to decide. However, 50 to 60 per cent district units felt that the party should go it alone.

About disciplinary action against party leaders Yatnal and Limbavali, he said it was for the central parliamentary board to decide as the State unit had submitted its confidential report to the board.

Earlier, Mr Gowda inaugurated a day-long 'study class' for the office bearers of Hubli-Dharwad Mahanagar district unit of the party and called upon them to work unitedly for the success of the party candidates in local body elections and not to neglect the priorities of the party. He wanted them to remember that BJP was a cadre-based party and not a slogan-based party.
