ACB arrests class l officer of BIS for bribary

Rajkot, Jan 9 (UNI) The sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a class one officer of Bureau of Indian Standnards (BIS) on the charge of accepting bribe.

According to ACB sources, the sleuths led by Police Inspector J J Dhranga laid a trap and arrested the Director of BIS Mohanlal Costa from his residence on Kalawad road area here last night.

During the arrest he was allegedly accepting Rs 30,000 from one Bhupendrabhai Khunt, owner of the Balaji Pipe factory.

Bhupendrabhai approached ACB complaining against the class one officer that he demanded Rs 30,000 for transferring ISI licence to another party. The owner of the factory had sold it to a Morbi-based man.
