3-member Hurriyat group to leave for Pak on Jan 18

Srinagar, Jan 9: A three-member delegation of the HurriyatConference, led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, will leave for Pakistan onJanuary 18.

Hurriyat spokesman Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam told UNI that thevisit has been postponed by a day as it was earlier scheduled forJanuary 17.

He said the Hurriyat Executive Committee, in a crucial meeting atits Raj Bagh headquarters here yesterday, had decided that three seniormembers -- chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Prof Abdul Ghani Bhat andBilal Ghani Lone -- will leave for Islamabad on January 17.

Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam said all the modalities regarding the visit have been completed.

He said the Hurriyat delegation would now leave for Lahore from New Delhi via the Wagah border on january 18.

During the Pakistan visit, the Hurriyat leaders would hold talkswith President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, ForeignMinister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri and other senior leaders of the rulingand opposition parties.
