15,000 brick kiln labourers will benefit as wages increase

Agartala, Jan 09 (UNI) About 15,000 labourers of more than 400 Brick Kilns in Tripura will be benefited following the decision of raising wages after a long struggle.

In regard to raise in wages for the labourers an accord was signed at a tri-partite meeting with the Shramik Union, Owner and Labour Department at the secretariate yesterday.

The tri-partite meeting was presided by the Labour Secretary S.

Sailo.

The new wages would continue for two years, that was raised by five percent. The labourers will now get Rs 250 per thousand brick from Rs 240.

The wages for others including firemen, loading and unloading workers increased to Rs 2625 per month from Rs 2500.

UNI
