Two detained for raping waitress

Mumbai, Jan 8 (UNI) Two people were detained by police for allegedly raping a 22-year-old waitress at Dahisar in north Mumbai early today.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shivaji Bodke said here that four people, known to the victim, visited her house at Besanpada at around 0230 hrs. They took her to a nearby playground, where two of them raped her. All of them were staying in the same locality.

The victim was working in parties as waitress and was staying with her married sister. Yesterday, she was alone at home as her sister and brother-in-law had gone to Virar to perform pooja at the Jivdani temple.

Of the two accused, one was identified as Mithun, while the identity of another accused was not known.
