Ranchi, Jan 8 (UNI) Jharkhand High Court today adjourned the hearing of much-hyped case of alleged death of Abhishek Mishra, friend of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad's daughter till tomorrow.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Muthuswamy Karpagyavinayagam and Justice Permod Kohli passed the order while hearing a writ petition of the court of its own motion.

Ahishek, a Birla Institute of Technology student, died on December 8 when he along with his friends, including Ragini, daughter of the Railway Minister, went on a picnic at the Dassam falls about 55 kilometers from the district headquarters.

Family members of Abhishek had demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter and his father S C Mishra wrote a letter to the Jharkhand high court chief justice.

The court took suo moto action after receiving the letter from Mr Mishra.

Today Mr Rajeev Ranjan, who has been appointed as the amicus curie of the case on Monday submitted the photographs and cds of Abhisek Mishra. The court has also observed that if the parents of Abhisek Mishra want to engage Rajeev Ranjan as their counsel they were free to do so.

Earlier, the court had directed the state government to file report and inform the court that the allegation made by Mr Mishra is correct or not.
