New Delhi, Jan 8 (UNI) BJP President Rajnath Singh today held a meeting with senior BJP leaders from Rajasthan to arrive at a consensus candidate for the post of party state unit chief in place of Dr Mahesh Sharma.

The two-and-a-half hour meeting, attended among others, by Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and BJP state incharge Kalraj Mishra, however failed to decide the issue.

The meeting was convened by the party President following the large scale dissatisfaction among BJP rank and file in Rajasthan.

After the meeting, Mr Mishra told newspersons that Mr Rajnath Singh had discussed the matter with the state leaders and would take a decision in four to five days after consultations with senior party leaders.

Other leaders who were present at the meeting were former deputy chief minister Hari Shankar Bhabhra, Mr Lalit Kishore Chaturvedi, M.P., Mr Ramdas Agarwal, Education Minister Ghanshyam Tiwari and Mr Prakash Chand.

Sources said that Mr Singh would be announcing the new state unit chief only after Makar Sankranti on January 14.
