Protest march against egg in noon meals

Mysore, Jan 8 (UNI) Various women's organisations today took out a protest march in the city against the Government's move to distribute eggs in mid-day meals for school children in the State.

Later, they submitted a memorandum addressed to the Deputy Commissioner to Headquarters Assistant Palliah.

The protestors feared that the Government's move might sow the seeds of discrimination in young minds, separating vegetarians from others. Instead, the Government should distribute fruits to school children, they demanded.
