Nine killed in Asom

Guwahati, Jan 7 (UNI) Nine people were killed in separate incidents in Asom tonight notwithstanding the red alert sounded by the state government.

ULFA militants, in a motorcycle, killed seven labourers and injured three others at a village under Kakotibari police station in Sibasagar district of Upper Asom.

The workers were staying in a rented house in the compound of one Girija Konwar.

In another incident, ULFA ultras struck in a brick kiln at Moran and shot dead a person and injured two others. Besides, a businessman was shot dead in the evening by unidentified ultras at kachugaon in Kokrajhar district.
