National Kabaddi Competition

Jhabua, MP, Jan 8 (UNI) Fifty teams from 22 states are expected to take part in a six-day National Kabaddi Competition for men and women, which gets underway on January 19 in the headquarters of this tribal-dominated district that has received the honour of hosting the event for the first time.

The Competition, being organised by the School Games Federation of India, will be under the aegis of the Madhya Pradesh government's Public Instruction Department.

''Teams from faraway states such as Manipur, Sikkim and Assam are scheduled to arrive,'' District Collector Rajkumar Pathak told UNI.

Comprehensive arrangements are being made for the boarding and lodging of about 1,000 participants besides organising cultural programmes.
