Kolkata, Jan 8 (UNI) The Trinamool Congress today demanded the resignation of West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee as Home Minister owning moral responsibility for the Nandigram mayhem while announcing future movement on the anti-land acquisition would continue.

''The Chief Minister who is also in charge of the Home department, cannot evade responsibility for the killings in Nandigram and police atrocities...He has failed to perform his duty and should quit,'' Leader of the Opposition Partha Chatterjee told a press conference.

Alleging that a ''state-sponsored'' terrorism was on in the state with the help of police and CPI(M) cadres, Mr Chatterjee said the Nandigram violence was the fallout of ''irresponsible'' remarks of some left leaders.

Mr Chatterjee announced that a 32-member delegation of the ''Krishi Jami Raksha Committee'' would meet Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi at the Raj Bhavan tomorrow to apprise him of the details on atrocities and violence in Nandigram and Singur.

''The Chief Minister is adamant to set up industries. But industry cannot come through unrest...let peace come back first,'' he said.

Party's senior leader Saugata Ray said the party's youth wing would take out processions and rallies in protest against the government's policy while the Krishi Jami Raksha Committee, a platform of 19 opposition outfits, would take out protest processions in every district.
