Nalanda International University bill expected in coming session

Patna, Jan 8 (UNI) The Bihar government has decided to bring Nalanda International University bill in the commission of the state legisltaure.

During janata darbar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar told newspersons here that the government had already agreed in principle for opening the university and the the process for land acquisition had been initiated.

He said instead of controlling authority, the state government would act as facilitator in setting up the university which would be of international fame where people from different parts of the world would get the opportunity to study.

Nalanda would earn its past glory through this university he hoped adding that the blueprint of the project report of the university was being sent to countries including Singapur, Japan, China, South Korea and others to get their assistance in opening the university on international standard.

Mr Kumar expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for seconding the project proposal in the Non Resident Indians meet.

Mr Kumar demanded according special state status to Bihar at par with states like Uttaranchal and Himachal Pradesh.
