Mother and daughter murdered

Bangalore, Jan 8 (UNI) In a gruesome incident, a 32-year-old mother and her 12- year-old daughter were murdered in the city, Assistant Commissioner of Police Malathi Krishnamurthy said.

Talking to newsmen here, she said that Mr Shekhar had been to Shabarimalai Aiyappa temple on pilgrimage and when he returned the door was locked from inside. On getting suspicion he informed the police and when the doors opened Pushpa and Ramya were found in pool of blood.

She said motive behind the murder was not immediately known.

Sniffer dogs and finger print experts were pressed into service and investigation is in progress.
