Master plan for Kolleru Lake development soon: Official

Eluru, Jan 8 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government will devise a a master plan for the development of Kolleru lake, according to Principal Sectretary, Forest Department, K S Rao.

The renovation works of the fresh water lake carried out under 'Operation Kolleru,' following the Supreme Court directive was not yet over, he said adding that another 2,000 acres of fishponds were identified for dismantling.

The Forest Department would dismantle all the identified fishponds in the sanctuary area by March, Mr Rao told newspersons here today.

Wet Land International South Asia, a private agency, had been entrusted with the task of preparing the master plan, he said.
