Latest IT technologies to be showcased tomorrow
New Delhi, Jan 8 (UNI) The latest in the Indian Information Technology realm will be displayed tomorrow at the Elitex-2007, to be inaugurated by Communications and IT Minister Dayanidhi Maran.
The two-day ELITEX (Electronics&Information Technology Exposition) is an annual event being organised by the Department of Information Technology (DIT).
Elitex 2007 will provide an opportunity to the participants to interact directly with the technology developers. Special rrangements are made to facilitate discussions with the scientists involved in the development of these technologies.
This year also, the Exhibition will showcase the technologies and products developed under the aegis of the Department of IT.
A compendium of 479 technologies and products developed under the Department of IT during the past years will also be distributed at the event. As on now, Department has filed IPR for 240 patent/ copy Right/Trademark and Design related applications were filed. Out of these 75 (53 copy rights, 11 patents, nine trade marks and two design) have been granted.
Some of the technologies ready for commercialisation are: Machine aided Translation, Spell check and OCR for various Indian languages, IP telephone, MIS for textile mills, Power distribution system, ayurvedic knowledge base, Set top box, Call center equipment, X-ray baggage system, Paper formation analyzer, Racon, Cotton fibrous web analyzer, Cell phone deactivator, Antennas for defence and space, Metrological equipment, Security tools, e-commerce technologies, RF drying for agro products, Waste management solutions, Telemedicine tools and network, Blue tooth devices etc.
All member countries of Asia Electronics Info-Communications Union (AEIU) are being specially invited to participate in the event. Forty participants from various countries are participating in the event.
Now the scope of the ELITEX-2007 has been enlarged to include official participations from all countries which was earlier available to only Asian Countries. The seminar deliberations will be available online via direct webcasting on www.nic.in.

institutions.

on
these
technologies
and
products
developed
through
this
effort
among
the
users
and
the
industry,
DIT
has
been
organising
this
annual
event
which
thus
makes
the
industry
to
eagerly
await
for
the
technology
meets.

and
enthusiastically
been
responding
to
this
initiative
and
has
participated
in
the
past
